Scrap the Girls - January Challenge

Hi everyone! Its lovely to be back to scrapbooking after a 2 year absence. I have been blessed with this beautiful daughter, which has kept me very busy as she's very much a "mummy's girl", glued to my side. Thought I better make a start on scrapbooking her photos as she's already 21 months! The Scrap the Girls challenge is a "free for all", a good place to start!

Scrapfriends Sketch Challenge #21

Welcome to my blog!  I'm pleased to be back after quite the absence. Life got a bit busy. But I'm hoping to get a few good layouts scrapped before life gets busy again as I am expecting a little bundle of joy in 3 months time!

Thanks for visiting!

Scrap The Boys - August Challenge

This month at Scrap The Boys the challenge is to create a monochromatic layout, which includes twine and chipboard.  There are great prizes up for grabs, as usual!

Pictured is my little boy in front of the "Penguin Plunge" at Perth Zoo, with his dad lurking in that reflection in the glass!

I used gesso to stop my paper crinkling, and also to create some texture.  Sprayed Bahama Blue glimmer mist and splattered Mermaid glimmer glam.  I also used clear micro beads (real cheap on ebay). My glue didn't quite dry as clear as I hoped (I went overboard with it, hate when those little beads roll off!) but perhaps it adds to the effect!

Thanks for stopping by!

Scrap The Boys - July Challenge

This month at Scrap The Boys you need to create a layout using a black and white headshot of your boy(s) or man, everything else is up to you!

Easy hey?

I had a play with some gesso, glimmer mist and glimmer glam and liked the wintery feel of the layout. I added some light stamping, paper flourishes, random pearls and glittery dots. I was afraid to do much more to it incase I ruined it!

Scrap The Boys - June Challenge

This month the challenge at Scrap The Boys is to create a layout that is about 'SPORT' it must also have a photo smaller than 6x4, include Stamping and at least one of the following colours:
Red - Teal - Orange  or Yellow

Here is my example layout.  Every time I look at it I see the map of Australia! Totally unintentional! Must be my subconscious patriotism!

Scrap The Boys - May

This months challenge over at Scrap The Boys is to create a grungey/arty/messy layout, the rest of the inspiration is up to you.

I had fun getting messy with this one. It looks messier in real life than in the photo as the layers seem to blend with the background paper.  I figured I better add some black paint to grunge it up a little, and was so nervous painting it on and smudging it in incase I hated it, but I love the effect! (and there's nothing a little gesso can't fix!)
